Norman "Matt" Elmore, 58, a former resident of Alamo who lived at Boca Raton, FL died Sunday morning in New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He had been ill 9 weeks. Mr. Elmore was a chemical engineer employed by Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey. He worked in Venezuela until his retirement in 1966. He then lived at Crawfordsville until 1969 when he moved to Florida. He was a member of Alamo CHristian Church and American Chemical Society. He graduated from CHS and Wabash College and held a master's degree in chemistry from Purdue University. Mr. Elmore was born Nov 30, 1914 in Montgomery County, son of Roscoe M. and Myrtle Latimore Elmore. He was married July 4, 1942 to DOris Marie Riehl of New York City. She survives. Surviving besides the widow are a sister, Mrs. Doyne (Helen) Rush of Alamo and two nephews, Dean  Rush of Alamo and Roscoe Rush of North Brook, Ill. Memorial services will be in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown at 8 p.m. Friday with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. THe family will be at the funeral home to receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Cancer Fund. - kbz
